OpenAI / ChatGPT subscription
Website: openai.com
Dline offers two ways to use OpenAI models:
- OpenAI: use an OpenAI API key, billed per token.
- ChatGPT Subscription: sign in with a ChatGPT subscription account, with no API key to manage.
OpenAI API key
Section titled “OpenAI API key”Get an API key
Section titled “Get an API key”-
Go to the OpenAI Platform and sign up or sign in.
-
Open the API keys page.
-
Click Create new secret key and give the key a recognizable name, such as
Dline. -
Copy the key immediately and store it securely. OpenAI will not show it again.
Configure Dline
Section titled “Configure Dline”See Model configuration for the general flow.
-
Click the Settings button in the Dline panel title bar.
-
Set Provider to OpenAI.
-
Paste the key into the OpenAI API Key field.
-
Search for or select a model under Model.
Custom base URL
Section titled “Custom base URL”Keep Use custom base URL unchecked to send requests to OpenAI. Check it to send them to another address instead, for example a self-hosted gateway or an OpenAI-compatible service.
-
Check Use custom base URL and enter the address the service exposes, such as
https://gateway.example.com/v1. Enter the API address itself, not the provider’s homepage. -
Paste the key that service issued into the OpenAI API Key field.
-
Select a model under Model. If the service lists model IDs that are not built into Dline, check Use custom model ID and type the ID under Model ID.
Azure OpenAI
Section titled “Azure OpenAI”- Enter your Azure OpenAI resource address under Use custom base URL.
- To pin an API version, check Set Azure API version and enter it. The default is
2024-10-01-preview. - Check Use Azure Identity Authentication to reuse an existing Azure managed identity. It does not start a sign-in; it only reuses an existing authentication state, such as
az login.
ChatGPT subscription
Section titled “ChatGPT subscription”-
Open Dline settings and set Provider to ChatGPT Subscription.
-
Click Sign in. Dline opens the Sign in to ChatGPT dialog and launches your system browser.
-
Authorize in the browser. When the browser returns to Dline automatically, the dialog closes and the status shows Signed in.
-
Select a model under Model. The available models depend on your ChatGPT plan.
When the browser cannot return automatically
Section titled “When the browser cannot return automatically”- Keep the Sign in to ChatGPT dialog open. Do not cancel it.
- Copy the full callback URL from the browser address bar after authorization completes.
- Paste it into the Full callback URL field in the dialog, then click Finish sign-in.
If the browser does not open automatically, copy the sign-in URL from the dialog and paste it into a browser yourself. If the sign-in times out, click Try again to start over.
Import an existing credential
Section titled “Import an existing credential”If the normal sign-in cannot complete, expand Advanced: import OAuth credential JSON in the dialog, paste the full OAuth credential JSON, and click Import credential. The credential is written to that profile’s own secret file.
Multiple profiles
Section titled “Multiple profiles”Each API profile stores its own ChatGPT credential. Signing in, signing out, or deleting one profile never affects another. To use several profiles, sign in once for each of them.
- Pricing: See the OpenAI pricing page for per-model costs.
